Bromeliaceae

I’ve been a horrible tumblr runner lately and have ignored this one almost completely and I apologize!

But I will try to get it back on track and bring you at least one bromeliad a day, I owe that to all you awesome people :)

So here is one of my nicer tillandsia’s, starting to come into flower for the first time since I bought it years ago. It keeps this nice color in full sun, and has a paler red-green color during the winter when it gets mostly shade.
Tillandsia aff. capitata - Ternascal, Veracruz, Mexico
The “aff.” in the name means “shares an affinity with.” Which means this is an undescribed species that seems to be closely related to Tillandsia capitata.
It’s probably going to have purple flowers, but I will definitely make a profile for it when it flowers! View Larger
